From the perspective of world economic and social history, research into the history of the Bata concern is one of the most interesting topics in Czech economic and social historiography. While Bata's architecture and, in recent years, the issues of the concern's activities during the Second World War are among the frequent topics of Czech history, a comprehensive treatment of a significant stage of the concern's history, such as the company's expansion by establishing foreign production companies and satellite factory settlements during the Great Depression, has yet to be developed. The present monograph is thus the first comprehensive study of the economic and, above all, the social dimension of Bata's business at the height of its foreign expansion.

The bachelor's thesis "Modern development of Zruč n. S. and the Bata company" contains a thorough mapping of all the buildings built by the company in the town. It discusses both their structural-technical description and the background and criteria that were determined by the Bata company. The influence of the company's ideology can be seen not only in the architecture of the buildings, but also in the change in the lifestyle of the inhabitants. An important part of this is the view of the city as an urban project of an ideal industrial city in the wider circle of contemporary urban tendencies. Another interesting aspect of building development is the changes associated with the changing political situation in the 1940s.

The bachelor thesis "Zruč nad Sázavou during 1945-1948: memories, memoirs, reality" contains a description of all important events that took place in this town in the post-war period. The thesis is divided into six key chapters. The first chapter introduces the reader to the town itself, its origins and development up to the Second World War. The wartime events that greatly influenced local life are not omitted. The second chapter deals with the local May Uprising and the changes that these moments brought about. The following three major chapters chart the development of the town after the occupation. There is mention of the local Communist Party, the post-war elections and the Communist takeover. The last chapter is devoted to the Bata company, which was most affected by the post-war changes. The work also includes testimonies of witnesses who recall the events of the time.
